Professional boxer Benjamin Flores died in the hospital just five days after a title fight with Al Seeger.
Flores, 25, was pronounced dead on Tuesday at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, just over a mile from the Hilton Anatole Hotel, where the fight took place last Thursday.
After losing a fight against Seeger, which Seeger won when referee Laurence Cole stopped the fight at the 2:10 mark of the eighth round, Flores collapsed in the ring.
Doctors rushed to his side and he appeared to be unconscious as he was removed on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
The match was for the North American Boxing Federation's super bantamweight title.
Flores' professional record was 19-4 with six knockouts.
