Fort Worth-based America One, a national U.S. television network whose content includes high-quality sports and lifestyle content, launched the first daily four-hour block of prime time sports programming under the new brand “One World Sports” on May 11.

The new brand, available on standard no fee/barter terms to all America One affiliates, will air on America One from 7-11 p.m. Eastern every day, with one hour reserved for action sports – including tennis, golf, international soccer, motor sports and rugby - and the other three hours changing throughout the week. The action sports hour will air from 10-11 p.m. for Eastern affiliates, and from 7-8 p.m. for affiliates in the Pacific Time zone.

The One World Sports programming is designed to create appointment viewing for sports enthusiasts as well as provide advertisers the ability to market more effectively. Affiliates are allowed four minutes of advertising time – whether by sport, by day or as a comprehensive package – in each hour of One World Sports. The balance is sold directly to national advertisers by America One and its partners.

America One CEO Wayne Becker said advertisers will get more value for their advertising dollar when viewers connect with a programming brand.

“Quality international sports programming has always been central to the value that America One delivers to affiliates and advertisers,” said Becker. “The launch of One World Sports extends and enhances that reputation, creating destination viewing for North American sports fans who want fresh, exciting sports content every day.”

America One reaches an audience of more than 33 million households in more than 125 markets. With the launch of One World Sports, America One is now the only national sports backbone network, according to the company.
