RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Dave Ensor, Ph.D., a senior fellow at RTI International, was awarded the 2009 James R. Mildon Award by the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology.

Ensor earned the award for significant contributions to the advancement and increase of knowledge in the field of aerosol contamination control, and particularly new standards in nanotechnologies, thus furthering IEST's involvement and renown in new, critical areas of activity.

He was presented the award as part of the Membership Meeting and Awards Luncheon May 6 in Schaumburg, Ill.

Ensor has more than 30 years of experience in aerosol science and air pollution research. He is recognized internationally as a leading expert in filtration, indoor air quality, nanotechnology, and cleanroom technology and founded the American Association for Aerosol Research and the research journal, Aerosol Science and Technology.

Ensor consistently contributes to scientific literature and has written more than 70 peer-reviewed papers and five book chapters. He has given more than 160 presentations to major national and international conferences, and holds four U.S. patents.

He earned a doctorate in engineering from the University of Washington, a master of science in chemical engineering from the University of Washington, and a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Washington State University.
