Lindsay Lohan just can’t get enough attention.
To prove it, on Twitter, she posted a topless picture she took of herself.

Because she was "bored."
The snap was taken a few months back as LiLo was getting ready for a fashion shoot, but she uploaded the photo only yesterday.
Lindsay can be seen in a blond wig, posing topless in a mirror and taking the pix with her camera phone.
The "Mean Girls" actress (she's @sevinnyne6126) posted a TwitPic link to the photo, and in her tweet she wrote: “Old photos … I’m THAT bored!”

kate gosselin spanks leah video

kate gosselin spanks leah video

Already lighting up the message boards are new photos that appear to show Kate Gosselin spanking her daughter Leah. Featured on the cover of the next issue of In Touch Weekly, one paparazzi photo looks like Kate takes a swat at Leah's bottom, and another shows Leah shielding her rear end with her hands and screaming while Kate grabs her arm.
What the pictures don't show is Kate actually striking Leah, or if she did how hard, or what led up to the provocation. Of course many think it's never right to spank a child no matter what they've done -- what do you think?
According to one report, a witness told In Touch:
The girl was screaming and crying. Kate just pushed her away and walked off with her coffee. Her older sisters were trying to make Leah feel better.
A previous story showed police at the Gosselins home, and at the time it was said Kate had called because photographers were too close to her property. Now rumors are it was actually paparazzi that called the cops to report the spanking -- a story bolstered by the fact that Kate is wearing the same dress in both the "spanking" pics and the ones of her talking to a police officer.
The controversial pictures were revealed in a promo for the gossip show

iphone 3.0 release time

iphone 3.0 release time

Many of the iPhone's long-awaited features will finally become reality Wednesday when Apple rolls out iPhone OS 3.0.
Current iPhone owners can download the software from iTunes for free, and iPod Touch users can get it as well, but for a fee of $9.95, just like the last OS update. What time exactly, we don't know yet. Apple will only say iPhone OS 3.0 will come out sometime Wednesday.
The update includes many functions other phones have had for a while, including multimedia messaging (if supported by your carrier--AT&T won't offer it until later this summer), voice recording, buying and renting movies and TV shows over the air, full system search, tethering (again, if your carrier allows it), and push notifications.
Apple has also bundled in some extras, like landscape virtual keyboard for certain apps, more extensive parental controls, in-app purchasing, and a feature for MobileMe customers called Find My Phone.
There will also be stereo Bluetooth available, as well as the capability to create applications specifically for interfacing with third-party hardware. That could lead to a boon in the accessories market for the iPhone as well as the iPod Touch, as my CNET colleague Donald Bell has pointed out.
As anticipated as Wednesday's OS 3.0 launch is, it's only the second most important product rollout for Apple this week. The new iPhone 3G S is scheduled to hit stores Friday morning. In the meantime, check out our First Take of the new iPhone and our detailed look at OS 3.0.

blackberry tour

blackberry tour

Tour 9630, a long-rumored 3G-enabled, QWERTY, dual-mode world phone with a 2.44-in. display, slim profile and GPS. It will be available from both Sprint and Verizon Wireless later this summer in the U.S., along with Bell Mobility and Telus in Canada.
The company seems to be attempting to win market share among executives and mainstream consumers despite the global economic downturn, and the new model falls somewhere between the consumer-friendly BlackBerry Curve and the corporate executive-driven BlackBerry Bold, offering business-friendly global capabilities and consumer-friendly multimedia features.

Originally referred to on the Web as the BlackBerry Niagara, the black-with-chrome trim BlackBerry Tour 9630 serves as an update to Sprint and Verizon’s BlackBerry 8830 World Edition models, running on EV-DO Rev. A 3G networks domestically and 3G UMTS/HSPA (2100Mhz) and quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900; GPRS/EDGE) support for voice and data overseas.
The smartphone also offers Bluetooth 2.0 (stereo Bluetooth, tethering) and GPS. There is, however, no Wi-Fi on the Tour.
The device touts a 35-key QWERTY keyboard and a 2.44-in., 480 by 360 resolution (245 ppi) display, the highest resolution of any BlackBerry device, the company says. The Tour measures 4.4 in. tall by 2.4 in. wide by 0.5 in. thick and weighs 4.5 oz.
The Tour features standard BlackBerry services, including support for personal and corporate e-mail, text and multimedia messaging, a speakerphone and voice-activated dialing. The Tour also supports BlackBerry App World and comes preloaded with Documents to Go for viewing and editing Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents.
More specs:
3.2-megapixel camera with video recording
Music and video player
3.5mm headphone jack
HTML Web browser
256MB RAM with up to 16GB expandable memory
User-replaceable 1400mAh lithium ion battery (5 hours talk, 14 days standby)
To compare, the touch-only iPhone 3G and 3GS can be used overseas via AT&T, while Palm’s touch-and-QWERTY Pre is only available in the U.S. through Sprint. RIM has also been rumored to be working on a new model of its touchscreen Storm that adds a keyboard to rival Palm’s Pre.
Sprint said it will offer the RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 for $199.99, but Verizon did not reveal pricing. Neither carrier offered availability dates for the Tour.
One analyst, Broadpoint Amtech’s Mark McKechnie, speculated that RIM could sell 400,000 to 600,000 Tours through the end of August, adding 5 cents to earnings and add $175 million to sales in the quarter that ends in August.

david letterman sarah palin joke

david letterman sarah palin joke

David Letterman apologized on Monday for making a sexually charged joke about one of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's teenage daughters, as a group of Palin supporters planned a rally demanding the late-night TV show host be fired.
"I told a joke that was beyond flawed, and my intent is completely meaningless compared to the perception" of the joke by viewers, he said during Monday's taping of "Late Night with David Letterman," according to a transcript given to Reuters.
"And since it was a joke I told, I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke," he said. "It's not your fault that it was misunderstood, it's my fault."
Last Tuesday, Letterman joked that New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez had "knocked up" the former vice-presidential nominee's daughter during a family trip to a baseball game.
But the daughter in question was 14-year-old Willow, not the intended target, 18-year-old unwed mother Bristol. Letterman said the following night that he was confused between the two and would never make sexual jokes about a 14-year-old.
Despite his explanation, Palin has charged that Letterman made "sexually perverted" comments.
In the transcript from Monday's show, Letterman also said he was sorry to Palin and both her daughters.
"I would like to apologize especially to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the Governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke. I'm sorry about it and I'll try to do better in the future," he said.
The apologies came as a group of Palin supporters, calling themselves FireDavidLetterman.com, planned a Tuesday protest outside the show's studio at the Ed Sullivan theater in New York's Times Square.
Palin and protest organizers, including Republican New York State Assemblyman Brian Kolb, have said the comments were demeaning to women, and they are comparing Letterman's case to that of radio host Don Imus, who was fired from CBS radio for offensive comments about a black women's basketball team.
Representatives for Palin on Monday were not immediately available to comment on Letterman's apology.

red yeast rice

red yeast rice

Two years ago, Chuck Jones of Yardley had high cholesterol, but his medicine caused severe leg cramps that routinely ruined his sleep.
Since participating in a clinical trial of red yeast rice, a supplement taken in China for centuries, Jones has gotten his cholesterol under control.
And within a week of starting the rice, "the pain was gone," the 59-year-old chemist said.
For Jones and most other "statin-intolerant" patients, red yeast rice combined with a heart-healthy diet and exercise helped lower bad "LDL" cholesterol, concludes a small study published today in the Annals of Internal Medicine.
Cholesterol is a fatlike substance that the body needs and makes. Too much can gum up the arteries and lead to heart disease, the nation's leading cause of death.
Many doctors routinely prescribe statins to lower cholesterol. Yet up to 10 percent of patients taking the drugs complain of muscle aches, memory problems, and other side effects.
That is a major issue given the large number of people treated with the drugs. Statins are the most prescribed medications in the country, with more than 200 million prescriptions filled last year alone, according to IMS Health, a company in Plymouth Meeting that tracks drug sales.
Local cardiologists David Becker and Ram Gordon, who led the study, believe in statins when diet and exercise fail to bring down a patient's cholesterol.
But the doctors also are open to supplements if their value and safety can be demonstrated. They don't want to risk the lives of patients who can't tolerate, or refuse to take, statins.
"In my practice, I see an enormous number of people who complain of muscle aches on statins," Becker said. "For many of those patients, red yeast rice, in conjunction with diet and exercise, works very well to lower their cholesterol."
Still, Becker warns patients to be wary of supplements, which are largely unregulated by the Food and Drug Administration. He also advises patients not to take red yeast rice without consulting a physician, because it can cause side effects similar to those of statins, including rare life-threatening problems.
Study participant Dee Little, 66, of Roxborough, experienced such problems with the red yeast rice and stopped taking it.
"I wasn't willing to put up with the body aches. I have enough of my own," she said. She was able to bring down her cholesterol levels with diet and exercise.
Red yeast rice, also called red rice yeast, is fermented rice. It contains compounds called monacolins, thought to act like low-dose statins by inhibiting the liver's production of cholesterol. One of those compounds is chemically identical to a statin.
The study involved a group of 31 randomly selected people taking red yeast rice and another group taking placebos. Both groups took part in a 12-week diet-and-exercise program.
The red yeast rice group lowered their bad, low-density lipoproteins, or LDL cholesterol, an average of 27.3 percent compared with 5.7 percent for the control group.
Two participants in the red yeast rice group dropped out with complaints of muscle aches, as did one person in the placebo group.
"I think most of the muscle pain is dose-related, and the main reason red yeast rice is better tolerated is that it is a low enough dose," said Daniel Rader, director of preventive cardiovascular medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and a coauthor of the red yeast rice study.
The red yeast rice used for the trial contained the equivalent of about six milligrams of lovastatin, a generic statin. Becker, however, rejects the notion raised by some experts that the supplement is simply a low-dose statin.
"It was a tiny, tiny amount of lovastatin," he said. "That would not lower cholesterol 27 percent." He said the various compounds in the red yeast rice might be interacting to amplify the cholesterol-lowering effect.
Experts said the problem of statin intolerance was going to get worse. Also in today's Annals of Internal Medicine, Canadian cardiologist Robert A. Hegele warns that the number of people experiencing statin side effects will grow as more receive high doses of the drugs to meet lower and lower cholesterol guidelines for preventing heart disease. He called for more research into the causes of the problem and to identify alternative approaches.
"For people who need to have their LDL lowered, it is important to try harder to find a treatment regimen that they could comply with or tolerate," Hegele said in an interview.
Red yeast rice, taken under a doctor's supervision to ensure regular testing for liver problems, could be an alternative strategy, Hegele said.
It also can be an expensive approach, costing consumers $15 to $30 for a month's supply, compared with $4 for a generic statin.
Paul S. Phillips, an interventional cardiologist at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, agreed that more research is needed to help patients with statin intolerance.
But he disagreed that red yeast rice is the answer. Because of the lack of supplement regulation, consumers can't be sure how much cholesterol-lowering power each pill packs or if any particular product contains toxins.
"These patients oftentimes feel that they have been harmed and ignored by conventional medicine," Phillips said.
So, he said, doctors need to do more to rebuild trust and win them over to conventional approaches.
The alternative is that patients "are likely to spend lots and lots of money on useless and potentially harmful supplements," Phillips said.
Becker used red yeast rice made by Sylvan Bioproducts Inc. of Kittanning, Pa., for the study. He also had the supplements tested by an independent laboratory for strength and purity.

carrie prejean playboy

carrie prejean playboy

Carrie Prejean is stunned that her Miss California Crown has been taken away.
Especially because those mean old pageant officials just tried to make her pose for Playboy and appear on "I'm a Celebrity ... Get me Out of Here" with Spencer and Heidi Pratt!
Carrie Prejean tells TMZ that pageant honchos actually asked recently her to take those two gigs.
She was told that Playboy had offered $140,000 for her to pose semi-nude.
She rejected both offers.
Pageant official Keith Lewis explained to TMZ that he was merely passing every offer along because Carrie had asked that they do so.
Prejean, who insists she has been consistently cooperative, calls this whole firing thing "a political debate." "They don't agree with the stance that I took [on gay marriage]. Shanna [Moakler] is trying to bash me. They don't like me. From Day One they wanted me out, and they got what they wanted."
Prejean can’t believe Donald Trump said she treated people badly. "I was very respectful of people even when they slandered me and humiliated me," she said. "I have not once stooped down to their level."

palau

palau
The United States has won an agreement to transfer up to 17 Chinese Muslims from the prison camp at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to Palau, a sparsely populated archipelago in the North Pacific, according to a statement released by Palau to The Associated Press on Wednesday.
The president of Palau, Johnson Toribiong, said his government had “agreed to accommodate the United States of America’s request” to “temporarily resettle” the detainees, members of the Uighur ethnic group, “subject to periodic review.” Palau, the president said, would be “honored and proud” to take them in a “humanitarian gesture.”
The agreement opens the door to the largest single transfer of Guantánamo prisoners and is the first major deal on detainees since President Obama pledged soon after taking office in January to close the prison within a year.
It also gives Mr. Obama some relief on an issue that has become a political hot button among Congressional Republicans and even some Democrats, who have noisily protested against releasing what they call potentially dangerous extremists on American soil or transferring them to prisons in the United States.
The 17 Uighurs (pronounced WEE-gurs) have been in a state of limbo since fall, when a federal district court ordered that they be released in the United States and an appeals court overturned the ruling. The Bush administration said that it did not classify the men as enemy combatants.
But the United States had not been able to persuade any country to take them, despite contacting about 100 governments. Washington had said it would not hand them over to China, which has demanded their return, because it feared they would be persecuted or even executed.
The Chinese government accuses some Uighurs of leading an Islamic separatist movement in far western China, and Beijing has pressed many countries not to accept the detainees. Palau, which was a United States trust territory until its independence in 1994, maintains diplomatic relations with Taiwan rather than China, making it less vulnerable to pressure from Beijing.
The State Department said last week that Daniel Fried, a diplomat who is leading the effort to resettle Guantánamo’s detainees, had visited Palau and Australia. But on Tuesday, the department declined to confirm that a deal with Palau was close.
“We’re working closely with our friends and allies regarding the resettlement and repatriation of Guantánamo detainees,” said the State Department spokesman, Ian C. Kelly. “As a matter of policy, we’re not going to comment on our bilateral discussions with individual countries.”
Three Obama administration officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity Tuesday because the negotiations were not yet complete, said it was not certain how many of the Uighurs would be settled in Palau. With barely 20,000 people, Palau, about 500 miles east of the Philippines, is one of the world’s least-populated nations, made up of 8 main islands and 250 smaller ones.
One administration official said that if Palau agreed to take “a large chunk” of the 17, it would be easier to find homes for the rest, either in Australia, Germany or the United States. Australia and Germany already have Uighur populations, making those countries obvious candidates.
Australia recently agreed to review a request to accept some Uighurs, after twice rejecting from the United States. Germany has been reluctant to accept any detainees unless the United States takes some, too.
The Obama administration has been negotiating actively with European and other governments to resettle 50 detainees, who it says are cleared for transfer. Since Mr. Obama took office, the United States has transferred one detainee to France and one to Britain. On Tuesday, it sent the first detainee to the United States to face charges in federal court.
The United States has pledged $200 million in long-term development aid to Palau. But a senior State Department official flatly denied it was a quid pro quo for the detainee deal.
Palau is known more for its tropical scenery and scuba diving than for its involvement in international politics. But despite its tiny size, it is diverse, with Philippine and Chinese populations. The Uighurs, some say, could do a lot worse for themselves.
“What they will encounter in Palau is paradise,” said Stuart Beck, an American lawyer who is Palau’s permanent United Nations representative. “From the time the first British vessel hit a reef in Palau in 1783, it has welcomed refugees.”

We know we report rumors of Britney Spears dating Jason Trawick, her friend and longtime agent, every few months - but we're taking this one seriously.
Fairly seriously, at least. Although People magazine botched its story of Bar and Leo breaking up earlier, it's reporting that Britney and Jason are definitely an item.
The best thing - and entirely necessary for any relationship involving the recovering singer to take place? Her family wholeheartedly approves of Jason Trawick.
Confirming Internet rumors, an insider tells the celebrity news magazine of Jason and Britney Spears: "They are totally and definitely dating," the source says.
"Her dad loves him. He's the best thing that happened to her."

Megan Fox wore a scorching hot Black Dress with sheer or translucent panels to the “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Seoul premiere. Check out pictures and video here.

Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf were in Seoul, South Korea on Tuesday (June 9) as part of their “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” promotional trip throughout Asia. The event was held at the Yongsan CGV, and the actors were accompanied by director Michael Bay.
The talk of the evening stems from the Black Dress, with sheer or translucent panels, that Fox sported, creating a frenzy of internet surfers, which of course are mainly guys. The second that the public got wind that the so called Angelina Jolie heir out did the gown she wore to the Tokyo premiere, web searches skyrocketed for “megan fox black dress” and “megan fox seoul premiere.”
The Huffington Post displays a fine photo gallery of the gorgeous starlet flaunting her stuff, which has the potential to bring her to red-carpet legend status.
In other news, Celebrity Gossip reports that the mother of Megan Fox, Darlene Fox, doesn’t want her daughter to get any more tattoos. A source told the site that
“Her mom has never understood why her daughter would want to cover her gorgeous body with tattoos. After each new tattoo, Darlene pleaded with Megan not to get more.
What do you think? Do tattoos make Megan Fox even more attractive, less attractive, or indifferent? Also, what dress do you think was hotter, the Black Dress she wore to the Seoul premiere, or the purple gown she sported at the Tokyo premiere?

denise richards howard stern interview

denise richards howard stern interview

Howard Stern took a shot and asked actress Denise Richards a personal question regarding her breasts, and her answer shook the world of entertainment news. During his Sirius Satellite Radio Show, it was revealed that the star of Denise Richards: It's Complicated has gone under the knife three times to enhance her chest area. The 38-year-old former fashion model related the story to Stern and the rest of her audiences, pointing out that her breasts were "natural on the outside, on the inside they are not."

Richards claimed that she got the operation "a long time ago," when she was struggling to make it big in the industry. She said that at the time, she was young and didn't know what was good for her."I was 19, and my roommate had the best boobs ever, and she had just had hers done," Richards explained. "I was flat as a board, and I thought, 'Whoa, you can just buy them,' and stupidly had them done!"When the procedure was over, the reality TV star realized that they didn't exactly fit her well, as they were "too big for [her] body."

This led her to have a second operation, but she unfortunately forgot to tell the doctor to reduce the size."The next guy put bigger ones in, and it was not good -- they were a D!" Richards told Howard Stern. The surgeon immediately assumed that she wanted a more voluptuous figure since she was going to be an actress, but it wasn't so.Luckily for Denise Richards, her third procedure was a success. Now that she's undergone all that, she hopes that other girls would learn from her errors too. "I was young and should have researched better. You know, it was a big mistake. Young girls, don't do it!"Catch more of Denise Richards this Sunday, when the second season of her reality show Denise Richards: It's Complicated airs on E! at 11pm.

nurse jackie

Edie Falco's role as a Vicodin-popping RN on Showtime's new series "Nurse Jackie," is being bed-panned by some real-life nurses.
The New York State Nurses Association wants a disclaimer tacked on to the end of the show, which premiered last night, that says Falco's "Jackie" is an aberration.
"We believe that the public's view of nurses is influenced by TV dramas, and we have yet to see an accurate portrayal of what nurses really do," wrote NYSNA Chief Executive Officer Tina Gerardi in a letter to Showtime.
"It is our responsibility as the state nurses' association to speak out on behalf of our profession, which often is misunderstood and marginalized by the media."
The NYSNA describes "Nurse Jackie" as someone who has "no qualms about repeatedly violating the nursing Code of Ethics" and hoped a disclaimer will distance the show from the real world. Showtime officials denied the request.
"This is a show of fiction, and its purpose, first and foremost, is entertainment," said Stuart Zakim, vice president of corporate communications.
"We are confident the viewing public will understand that and can differentiate between a work of fiction and a documentary, which this clearly is not."
For her part, Falco has been clear in saying she's not portraying the entire field of nursing.
"We're not saying this is a show about nurses," Falco recently told the Daily News. "This is a show about a nurse."
Still, some nurses worry just one bad portrayal could have a negative impact on all.
"I almost fell out of my chair when I saw 'Nurse Jackie.' What are my patients going to think when they see that [show]?" said Barbara Crane, president of the National Federation of Nurses.
"I found those things that she did - forging a donor card, stealing money, throwing people's body parts away - extremely insulting," said Crane, a nurse at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, L.I. "It makes me really sad. That's not who I am, that's not what I do.
"There isn't a day that goes by that one of these nurses at my hospital hasn't done something spectacular to save someone's life," she added.
"We are extremely intelligent, well-educated, critical-thinking people and yes, we have personal lives, but when we walk in this place, we leave our \[problems\] at home and focus on the patient.

birth records

birth records
A door has been slammed on the hunt for confirmation of President Obama's birth in Hawaiian hospital records, with officials at two prominent Honolulu facilities either declining to return WND telephone calls or refusing to comment.
Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and Queen's Medical Center both have been cited – by various sources including Obama's half-sister – as the birth place in 1961 of Barack Obama.
But officials at Kapiolani today declined to return any of at least four WND messages requesting a comment on what perhaps would be the facility's most significant claim to fame, and officials at Queen's said in a prepared statement, "Due to patient privacy laws we cannot respond to your inquiries."
They said that statement could be attributed only to a hospital "spokesperson."

While the issue of Obama's birth place, and thus his constitutional eligibility to be president, has been steaming along since before the election, with dozens of lawsuits being filed, it again is making headlines with the report that the "certification of live birth" posted by the Obama campaign on the Internet during the campaign would not even be acceptable by Hawaiian state officials for some identification purposes.
A Honolulu Star Bulletin column Saturday had quoted a state Department of Health spokeswoman as saying the state's current certification of live birth is recognized "as an official birth certificate meeting all federal and other requirements."
But the website of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands states clearly the certification of live birth touted by Obama's campaign, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs and a host of other Obama defenders is not acceptable as a form of identification to qualify under this program.
WND has reported that the state documents called "certification of live birth" were widely issued to Hawaiians born in foreign countries in 1961, the year Obama was born.
Are you motivated yet to join the billboard campaign and clear up the air of mystery surrounding Barack Obama's constitutional eligibility to serve?
But a blogger at Earthfrisk.com previously had tallied the responses attributed to a series of telephone investigations and personal visits to a large number of medical facilities in Hawaii.
According to the report, Obama has claimed Queen's as his birth location, but no information was available, while his half-sister has placed his birth in Kapiolani, and once again no information was available.
But the investigators said neither Obama nor his mother ever stayed in Honolulu Shriners Hospital, Straub Clinic and Hospital, Hawaii Health Systems Corp., Cancer Institute of Maui, Kaukini Hospital, Rehab Hospital of the Pacific, St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii, Straub Health, Tripler Medical Center, Wahiawa General or Wilcox Memorial.
"We were pretty detailed in our calls and visits thanks to dozens of native Hawaiian patriots! To the College Republicans all over the Island kudos!" wrote the blogger, whose investigations took place in November and December 2008. "You can look at every hospital … and call or visit any of them. … Barack Obama was never born in a hospital in Hawaii as claimed."
A private detective working in conjunction with WND Senior Writer Jerome Corsi's investigations last year into Obama's birth place also visited the hospitals.
In a subsequent affidavit, he said the online image doesn't prove any birth location.
"On October 31st, 2008, officials in Hawaii released a statement that they had examined the birth certificate, but failed to declare whether it was a Live Birth Certificate generated by a hospital with signatures of the attending physician or a 'Late Birth' Certificate of Hawaiian Birth that could have been obtained (for a child) who is one year old or older after birth by a simple affirmation of a family member," wrote investigator Jorge L. Baro, of Elite Legal Services in Florida.
"Only the 'Long Form' original certificate will answer all questions about the date and location of birth and confirm that it occurred in Hawaii," he said.
WND has been reporting since before the election on questions – and lawsuits – raised over Obama's birth and eligibility. He reported in his book he was born in Hawaii and his half-sister agrees. But the woman the president says is his paternal grandmother, Sarah Obama, claimed to have been present at her grandson's birth in Mombasa, Kenya.
The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."
Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, join more than 380,000 others and sign up now!
Complicating the issue are Obama's move to Indonesia as a child, where he reportedly attended that nation's public schools, and his later travels to Pakistan, raising questions about on what nation's passport was that travel accomplished. Then there are the multiple law firms hired to make certain Obama's birth certificate information, and other documentation such as college records, remain sealed from public view.
"It is my opinion that there is more than enough evidence to question a candidate's eligibility," the investigator concluded. "It is inconceivable to me that requiring documentation that most citizens must produce to get a drivers license should not be required to prove whether the next leader of the free world is qualified under the Constitution to hold the office."
"Hospital after hospital in Honolulu all have NO RECORD of Obama or mother ever being there," the blogger wrote. "Is this some state secret? Are we to believe that even the hospital that he was born in should remain secret?"
Joseph Farah, WND editor and chief executive officer, launched a national billboard campaign last month in an effort to keep the issue before the American people. The billboards, being leased around the country, ask the simple question, "Where's the birth certificate?" Farah is asking the public to support his campaign with donations. So far, more than $75,000 has been collected.
The billboard campaign followed one launched months earlier to collect the names on an electronic petition demanding accountability and transparency on the issue. So far, that petition has gathered nearly 400,000 names.
The campaign got a boost recently when WND White House correspondent Les Kinsolving asked Obama's press secretary, Robert Gibbs, why the president wouldn't release his birth certificate. Gibbs' response was covered live on C-SPAN and by Fox News Channel and others – excluding CBS.
It was the first time any member of the press corps has publicly asked a member of the administration a question directly related to Obama's constitutional eligibility for office as a "natural born citizen."
Congressional hearings were held to determine whether Sen. John McCain was constitutionally eligible to be president as a "natural born citizen," but no controlling legal authority ever sought to verify Obama's claim to a Hawaiian birth.
Both the petition and the billboard campaign are part of what Farah calls an independent "truth and transparency campaign."
The first sign to be posted under the campaign, a digital, electronic one, is up and online on Highway 165 in Ball, La.. In addition, based on the heavy volume of financial donations in the first days of the campaign, WND was able to commit to leasing three more standard billboards – one in Los Angeles, another in Orange County, Calif. and a third in Pennsylvania.

Farah said the campaign was born of frustration with timid elected officials in Washington, corrupt judges around the country and a news media that show a stunning lack of curiosity about the most basic facts of Obama's background – especially how it relates to constitutional eligibility for the highest office in the land.
"As Obama transforms this country from self-governing constitutional republic to one governed by a central ruling elite, the simple fact remains that no controlling legal authority has established that he is indeed a 'natural born citizen' as the Constitution requires," Farah said. "Obama's promises of transparency have become a bad joke as he continues to hide simple, innocuous documents like his birth certificate and his student records."
While an Obama spokesman one time called the allegations "garbage," the president and his team have withheld other comments. But here is a partial listing and status update for some of the cases over Obama's eligibility:
New Jersey attorney Mario Apuzzo has filed a case on behalf of Charles Kerchner and others alleging Congress didn't properly ascertain that Obama is qualified to hold the office of president.
Pennsylvania Democrat Philip Berg has three cases pending, including Berg vs. Obama in the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a separate Berg vs. Obama which is under seal at the U.S. District Court level and Hollister vs. Soetoro a/k/a Obama, (now dismissed) brought on behalf of a retired military member who could be facing recall to active duty by Obama.
Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.
Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut's secretary of state, making a similar argument to Donofrio. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.
Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California, in a case handled by the United States Justice Foundation, that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public's support.
Chicago lawyer Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama's vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.
Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama's eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama's citizenship. His case was denied.
In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied.
Also in Ohio, there was the Greenberg v. Brunner case which ended when the judge threatened to assess all case costs against the plaintiff.
In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama's citizenship. The case was denied.
In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama's birth certificate. His request for an injunction against Georgia's secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.
California attorney Orly Taitz has brought a case, Lightfoot vs. Bowen, on behalf of Gail Lightfoot, the vice presidential candidate on the ballot with Ron Paul, four electors and two registered voters. She also has brought forward several other cases and has conducted several public campaigns to generate awareness of the issue.
In addition, other cases cited on the RightSideofLife blog as raising questions about Obama's eligibility include:
In Texas, Darrel Hunter vs. Obama later was dismissed.
In Ohio, Gordon Stamper vs. U.S. later was dismissed.
In Texas, Brockhausen vs. Andrade.
In Washington, L. Charles Cohen vs. Obama.
In Hawaii, Keyes vs. Lingle, dismissed.

david duchovny

david duchovny

David Duchovny, who plays a sex-obsessed character on Showtime’s “Californication,” has entered a rehabilitation facility for sex addiction.
The 48-year-old actor said he did so voluntarily, in a statement released Thursday by his lawyer, Stanton Stein. He added: “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”
Duchovny’s publicist, Flo Grace, confirmed the report, which first appeared on the She and Stein both declined further comment.
“All of us at Showtime wish David and his family the best during this very private time,” the network said in a statement.
The second season of “Californication” begins Sept. 28.
Duchovny starred as the conspiracy-minded Fox Mulder on “The X-Files” TV series and in two films. “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” opened in theaters earlier this summer.
He and his wife, actress Tea Leoni, have two children. The couple married in 1997.

Bill is dead, but do we really need to see the David Carradine death photo to prove it? His family doesn’t think so. Thai newspaper The Rath (respectfully?) disagrees.
David Carradine, the actor best known to younger viewers for playing Bill in the Quentin Tarantino Kill Bill films, was found dead in his hotel room June 4th with ropes tied around him. Now the David Carradine death photo surfaced in a Thai newspaper and, naturally, his family is outraged.
The Bangkok Post reported that Carradine’s body was found curled up in the wardrobe with a shoelace tied around his genitals and neck.
Foul play has been ruled out and it appears as if Carradine was alone in the room. Apparently, he was participating in auto erotic asphyxiation, a form of masturbation. But, of course, no one knows for certain what happened until the autopsy occurs
However, friends say Carradine was known to engage in the practice, and, in his 2003 divorce papers, his ex wife accused him of a “potentially deadly” sexual appetite, according to TMZ.
Naked photos of Carradine published in Thai papers shows a naked body suspended from a bar in the closet, with his hands apparently bound together above his head. Tattoos on the lower half of his nude body also are visible.
“The family is outraged about the release of these photos,” said Mark Geragos, an attorney who represents Keith Carradine, the actor’s brother, to Radar.
Geragos has threatened to sue if the pictures are published anywhere in the U.S. The Thai paper has defended its publishing the picture, saying they were honoring the actor.
It took some searching for College News to find the David Carradine death picture online and we didn’t deem it worth printing. If you’d like to see it somewhere else, you can. But it’s something we wouldn’t advise.

berlusconi party pics

berlusconi party pics

A Spanish newspaper Friday published what it said are five exclusive photographs of racy parties at Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's villa on the island of Sardinia.
The photos were blocked from use in Italy by a judicial order after Berlusconi complained of invasion of privacy.
Under the front-page headline "The photographs that Berlusconi doesn't want the Italians to see," the newspaper, El Pais, printed one photo on its cover and the others on inside pages. The five photos also appear on the El Pais Web site.
All of the faces of the people in the photos, except for a fully clothed Berlusconi, are pixilated, concealing their identities. One of the photos shows scantily clad women; that photo does not include Berlusconi.
El Pais said the photos were taken by Italian Antonello Zappadu, 51, and that he, not the newspaper, did the pixilation.
El Pais said Zappadu tried to sell the photographs to the Italian magazine Panorama, which is part of Berlusconi's media empire. But Berlusconi managed to block their publication in the magazine and across Italy.
Some Italian media on Friday, on their Web sites, showed the photos in the context of the El Pais report.
Italian media reports said Berlusconi's lawyer vowed to seek legal recourse in Spain.
The photo controversy and the parties are tied to the issue of complaints about Berlusconi's alleged use of official Italian aircraft to transport his guests to his villa, El Pais said.
Berlusconi has denied any wrongdoing in the use of official Italian aircraft.

Is he Cute?
Lance Armstrong's girlfriend Anna Hansen gave birth to a son with the champion cyclist, and Armstrong wasted little time in announcing the good news via Twitter: "Wassup, world? My name is Max Armstrong and I just arrived. My Mommy is healthy and so am I!"
Baby's first tweet!
He sent out the announcement shortly before midnight on Thursday, following up later with the pertinent stats: Max weighed in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and is 20 inches long.
Armstrong has three children with his ex-wife, Kristin, all conceived with frozen sperm and through in vitro fertilization because the cyclist had to undergo chemotherapy to treat testicular cancer. His reps confirmed that he conceived the baby with Hansen naturally.
After romancing a number of high-profile blondes including actress Kate Hudson, designer Tory Burch, and Sheryl Crow (he reportedly ended their engagement because her biological clock was ticking but he wasn't ready to be a father again), he started dating Hansen last summer. They've settled in Aspen.

the hangover quotes

the hangover quotes
The immaturity of ostensibly grown-up American men is an inexhaustible subject, or at least one that has yet to exhaust American movie audiences and the well-paid guys who cater to their entertainment needs. Todd Phillips, the director of “Old School,” “Road Trip” and an HBO documentary called “Frat House” as well as a writer of “Borat,” has shown himself to be an adept and tireless connoisseur of male boorishness and stupidity, though the crude humor he dispenses is frequently leavened by nuggets of inventiveness and wit.
So I should say up front that “The Hangover,” Mr. Phillips’s new movie (written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who contributed to the shockingly nonterrible script of “Four Christmases” and wrote the less surprisingly dreadful script of “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past”) is often very funny. This is partly thanks to the three principal actors, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis, who incarnate familiar masculine stereotypes in ways that manage to be moderately fresh as well as soothingly familiar.
Mr. Helms is the anxious, nerdy dude — a dentist only because making him an accountant would deprive the film of a choice tooth-extraction gag — who lives in cowering terror of his bossy, judgmental girlfriend (Rachel Harris). Mr. Galifianakis is the childlike loser whose borderline-creepy non sequiturs are more hilarious the less sense they make. But it is Mr. Cooper who offers the most interesting variation on an old standard, playing his aggressive, cocky frat boy with a snarl of rage that masks an anxiety as hard to account for as it is to miss.
These three — Stu (Mr. Helms), Phil (Mr. Cooper) and Alan (Mr. Galifianakis) — drive to Las Vegas from Los Angeles with another buddy, Doug (Justin Bartha), who seems much better adjusted than the others, which is to say blander and duller, and who mercifully vanishes for most of the picture. Doug is about to get married, and a wild bachelor weekend spins out of control.
Phil, Stu and Alan wake up to find their luxury suite at Caesars Palace a shambles, with a tiger in the bathroom, a baby in the closet and a chicken scratching around the detritus of what looks to have been quite a bacchanal. Stu has a missing incisor, Phil has a hospital bracelet around his wrist, and Doug is nowhere to be found. What on earth could have happened?
In answering that question “The Hangover” peaks early and runs out of steam long before the end. This is probably inevitable, since even the craziest stuff has a way of becoming less so in the course of being explained. Still, there are some moments of dizzying, demented lunacy, most of them immune to being spoiled by mere verbal description. (The verbal jokes I will leave for you to discover and repeat with your co-workers in the break room.)
Mike Tyson shows up to sing along with a Phil Collins song. Mr. Galifianakis is tasered. So are the other two. By schoolchildren on a field trip. Have I ruined anything? No, I’ve just whetted your appetite.
But true to its title, “The Hangover” goes down smoothly enough and then kicks you in the head later on, when you start to examine the sources of your laughter. There’s the easy, lazy trafficking in broad ethnic caricature — Mike Epps as a black drug dealer, Ken Jeong as a prancing, lisping Asian gangster known as Mr. Chow — which is decked out in flimsy air quotes to make it seem as if the movie is making fun of racism.
And the movie, for all its queasiness about male bodies and the thin line between friendship and, you know, other stuff, can’t be called homophobic either. It is much more panicked by the idea of heterosexuality, from whose terrors and traps the whole Vegas adventure is an escape. The city itself is not a place of sin but rather, for Stu, Phil and Alan, an Eden of the narcissistic, infantile id.
Alan, in spite of his heavy beard, is almost literally a giant baby, his soft-bellied body appearing swaddled in a sheet and, most memorably, in a jockstrap that looks like a badly applied diaper. Until the end credits — which shuffle through still photographs from a harder-edged, more nastily and candidly adult movie — the on-screen nudity consists of male buttocks and a woman’s breast in the mouth of a nursing infant. This pretty much sums up the movie’s psychosexual condition, which old-school Freudians might identify as pregenital, more preoccupied with eating and elimination than with, you know, other stuff.
The tiny handful of women who have speaking roles in “Hangover” may at first seem to be conventional figures in the straight-male imaginary — the sweet and patient bride; the emasculating, hypocritical shrew; the friendly prostitute (a sunny Heather Graham) — but they are all really incarnations of mommy. There is a bad mommy who won’t let you play, a good mommy who cleans up your mess and kisses your boo-boos and an extra special mommy who offers you her nipple even when you don’t pay for it as most of the other kids do. What hangover? This movie is safe as milk.
“The Hangover” is rated R (Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian). Bad words and naughty stuff no child would be dumb enough to try.
THE HANGOVER
Opens on Friday nationwide.
Directed by Todd Phillips; written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore; director of photography, Lawrence Sher; edited by Debra Neil-Fisher; music by Christophe Beck; production designer, Bill Brzeski; produced by Mr. Phillips and Dan Goldberg; released by Warner Brothers Pictures. Running time: 1 hour 36 minutes.
WITH: Bradley Cooper (Phil), Ed Helms (Stu), Zach Galifianakis (Alan), Heather Graham (Jade), Justin Bartha (Doug), Rachel Harris (Melissa), Mike Epps (Black Doug), Ken Jeong (Mr. Chow), Jeffrey Tambor (Sid) and Mike Tyson (himself).

preston castle

preston castle Dont be Afraid
High atop a hill lies the former Preston School of Industry - a reform school - known locally as Preston Castle.

A monstrosity of sandstone Romanesque Revival, built in the late 1890's, is where once thousands of homeless, incorrigible and violent state "wards" learned trades like farming, carpentry and auto repair until the 1960's. Merle Haggard and 50's cowboy star Rory Calhoun once lived here.

Driving up the hill to the Castle I began to experience a sense of the uneasy.

Nothing was visibly amiss. The bright blue skies with puffy clouds under which the lush green hills of Amador County made for the kind of a perfect bucolic photo visitors bureaus place on brochure covers.

Stepping out of the car my eyes scanned across dark elongated windows some boarded others caged above and below towers and turrets. Despite the temperature being in the 90's a chill, and not the refreshing kind, ran across my shoulders.

Under a massive arch my guide, Marie Nutting, smiled and took my initial outburst of "wow, this place is really creepy" in stride. As board president of the Preston Castle Foundation, a band of intrepid volunteers committed to saving the structure, my comment was not new to her.

Entering the facility nothing supernatural hit me. No flying plasma or disembodied voices. The two front rooms were rather bland in fact except for a large steel safe, topped with a man' head and a unique drinking fountain.

Then a second set of doors slowly opened, and the chill returned. Not with icy fingers dancing lightly but handfuls of thrusting fear. Peeling paint, deep shadows and unseen light sources immediately gave me the sense that others, besides Marie and myself, were present.

I like to consider myself a rational person, however just then silently my brain cried out. "Its okay. I am friendly".

In the soft gloom Marie began the tour. In desperate need of repair the building has stairs that creak and caved in roofs and missing floors, along with dust bunnies the size of a truck.

Looking beyond the obvious decay, and pushing aside my trepidation, I could imagine the school's staff enjoying lunch in the dining room, people riding the water driven elevator and reading books where once 7,000 of them stood in the library.

Then in the old infirmary that certain feeling once again returned. It was hard to describe, as it was nothing violent, but rather a feeling of unseen vitality. I brushed it aside saying old forlorn metal bed frames in the corner were activating my imagination.

Downstairs by the pool my camera refused to capture a clear shot. I fiddled with shutter speeds, repositioned myself through several attempts - but to no avail. It was always unfocused.

Turning into the nearby kitchen, I casually mentioned my camera dilemma to Marie who told me we were entering the spot where the murdered body of Anna Corbin had been found.

With a quick spin I rapidly departed the kitchen.

The rest of the tour was calm especially when back outside under the shade of trees and looking over a small yet charming flower garden.

Marie reminded me that the Castle is open for public tours every first and third Saturday of the month and also offers monthly paranormal sleepover weekends.

Upon my safe return home I spoke to Gloria Young, President and Founder of Ghost Trackers.

Her excitement over the haunting at the Castle was intoxicating. She described events where rocks have rocketed down empty hallways and people suddenly found cold pockets spotted within the building's interior.

She asked if I had experienced anything out of the norm.

When I told of my odd feeling in the infirmary she advised how disembodied humming are frequently heard there.
Her words' effect had chill quickly prickling my spine.

"Anything else?" she inquired with genuine curiosity

I told her about my camera's malfunction, and in a low voice she mentioned how the pool area was often filled with high energy due to its close proximity to where poor bludgeoned Anna Corbin was discovered back in the ‘50’s.

In 2008, during her organization's first outing to the castle, orbs of light made a sweeping clockwise motion across the heads of researchers.

Was it Anna? Was it someone connected to the supposed controversy surrounding her killer? That much has not been made clear so far, but Young waits patiently for the day when all will be spiritually revealed.

Should you wish to explore for the answers Ghost Trackers' overnight camping trips are currently scheduled from June through November.

Just don’t expect to see me there.

I’ll be at my meeting for Scaredy Cats Anonymous.

tank man

tank man

Tank Man — his identity has never been determined — shot to worldwide fame that day for stopping those tanks, hours after they had brutally crushed student-led protests on Beijing's Tiananmen Square. Hundreds — possibly thousands — died in the early-hours protest on June 4, 1989, an event that still remains a forbidden topic in Communist-governed China.
Pictures of Tank Man's courageous efforts and other information about the crackdown are still officially censored in China. But now, 20 years on, modern technology and the wide reach of social networking sites like Facebook are providing curious students with the information they were previously denied.
"In this, 20 years ago, China strove for democracy and freedom. The government killed our compatriots, university students and citizens," wrote a woman identifying herself as Bonnie Wong on the Facebook fan site Tank Man, one of several forums that have popped up ahead of the 20th anniversary of the crackdown.

For 20 years, more than a few have entered the political arena who are the real villains, hypocrites who put on a false show of great peace and bury their consciences in a fiery pit. They control the government, they control media, they hold on to education, they control writing," wrote another Facebook member who calls himself Jonathan Siew.
The vast majority of Chinese youth show no outward knowledge of what happened 20 years ago, a fact that pains the still-mourning relatives of those who were killed.
"This is a cruel reality — young people do not know the truth," said Ding Zilin, a retired professor whose 17-year-old son was shot dead that night. "The government hides the truth from children and keeps it as a sort of forbidden zone. It isn't taught in classrooms."
But in the anonymity of the online world, Internet-savvy youths use mirror sites and proxy servers to explore alternative versions of the official history and to discuss their own frustrations with their government's clumsy efforts at censorship.

China's censorship of Web sites deemed harmful to its government and security is known as The Great Firewall; this week it blocked access to Twitter, Bing.com, the photo-sharing Web site Flickr and, briefly, Hotmail. Other sites, including YouTube and blog providers like Blogspot and Wordpress, are routinely barred.
But frequent Twittering and Facebooking from Chinese users on the eve of the June 4 anniversary proved there are many ways around the censors' efforts.
One Twitterer, identified as freemoren, posted regular updates of what was happening exactly 20 years ago on the square; others shared links to Western documentaries and newspaper articles about the Tiananmen massacre; some even speculated about how many packages Tank Man held in his hands as he faced down the tanks.
As in the West, there are few to no clues about Tank Man's identity and fate. Chinese users are reluctant even to express their opinions on his actions, or to reveal their real identities, in case they are tracked down and questioned by police.
"Everyone, be very safety conscious!" a Chinese Twitterer identifying himself as flypig warned. Code words abound; the government censors are known as "river crabs," and the anniversary itself is referred to as "TAM" or "ATM" or "8964."
While information is available to those who seek it out, the next generation is still a long way from being able to express opposition to the Tiananmen massacre publicly. The square was under heavy security this week, and news crews were chased away. At least one prominent university's student association was reported to be advising students to stay home and resist any temptation to protest.
"Most people are certainly affected by the public opinion control. The effect is obvious," tweeted a Chinese user identifying himself as Hosven. "Few in our generation of people know about 8964. Those who understand its seriousness are less."

obama speech in cairo

obama speech in cairo
President Barack Obama's personal history -- especially his family roots in Islam -- helped capture the fascination of the world's one-billion-plus Muslims when he was elected.
Still, Mr. Obama faces skepticism about the substance of his speech in Cairo Thursday. Expectations are high he'll address specific policy, especially regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
India
Dr. Zafarul-Islam Khan, president of All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, the umbrella body of Indian Muslim organizations, said South Asian Muslims welcomed Mr. Obama's election. But so far, hasn't delivered the sort of u-turns on U.S. policy many had hoped for.
"President Obama has belied our hopes. Apart from cosmetic and semantic changes, everything is pretty much the same," Mr. Khan said. "In one word: we want America to have one policy for both home and abroad. Let America respect liberty, human rights, democracy and the outcomes of democratic elections in the Muslim world; Let America support the rule of law in the Muslim world; Let America stop supporting dictatorships camouflaged in various shapes and colors in the Muslim world."
Iraq
Baghdad shop-owner Jassem Mohammed, 45 years old, said he suspects the American president would use his past family ties to Islam to try to woo Muslims, but he said he's not buying it. "This is just propaganda for America because of all the bad things that have happened in Iraq and Afghanistan," he said.
But Fa'az Nouri, a 40-year-old government employee, was more optimistic. He said he hoped Mr. Obama's speech would help mark the beginning of peace in the Middle East, particularly between Israelis and the rest of the Muslim world.
"At last, we need to have a historic agreement between Arabs and Israel, and the East and West should understand each other better," he said.
Indonesia
In Jakarta, State Islamic University rector Komarudin Hidayat, said he appreciated the rapid outreach by the Obama administration, underscored by his visits to Turkey and, now, the Middle East.
"His recent trip to Turkey and now to Cairo are a friendly gesture toward the Muslim world," Mr. Hidayat said. "Whatever the speech contains, Obama is becoming the bridge between the Western and Muslim worlds."
Palestinian Territories
For Palestinians -- a key audience for Thursday's speech -- Mr. Obama may disappoint. He's made it clear he won't offer specifics on how to push forward Israeli-Palestinian peace, an issue crucial to their daily lives.
"The Americans have always made the Palestinians live up to their commitments, but let Israel do whatever it wants on our land," said Qassem Najar, a high-school English teacher in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
"Obama needs to talk about creating a Palestinian state now. Now!" said Maha Badawi, a student at the West Bank's Birzeit University. "No checkpoints, no wall, freedom of movement, now. Palestinians are running out of patience. The problem is not Iran. It is injustice in the Middle East."

india vs pakistan warm up match highlights

india vs pakistan warm up match highlights
India and Pakistan's eagerly anticipation clash at The Oval tomorrow has been designated as a "Catch the Spirit" match by the ICC, a fundraiser to help support families of the victims of the attack on the Sri Lanka team and officials in Lahore in March.
Funds raised through a variety of initiatives during the match will also support the Peace and Sport projects across Asia.
"The Board wanted to do something to assist the families of the victims of the terror attacks on the Sri Lanka team and match officials in March, and using this high-profile match with a sell-out crowd as a vehicle to do that makes excellent sense," said David Morgan, the ICC president.
"'Catch the Spirit' is one of the themes of the ICC's ongoing centenary year of 2009 and it highlights the respect with which the game is played around the world. We are extremely grateful to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the hosts, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Surrey County Cricket Club, for allowing the match to take place under this banner."
"We hope this match, watched by millions both at the ground and around the world will portray cricket in a positive light, make a positive contribution to the lives of those affected by those terrible events in March and contribute to assisting community-based projects across the Asian subcontinent that promote peace through cricket."
Ijaz Butt, the PCB's chairman, added: "The attack in Lahore was a terrible shock and we have immense sympathy for all those who were affected by the incident.
"The PCB provided support to the families of the victims immediately after the attack and it is encouraging to see the rest of the cricket world coming together in this way."
Details of how spectators and companies can contribute to the initiative will be announced during the match.

susan boyle anxiety attack

susan boyle anxiety attack

"Britain's Got Talent" phenomenon Susan Boyle, 48, is recovering from an anxiety attack after the season finale, in which she came in second place. Boyle is doing well, sources say. According to MSNBC, some fans are worried about Boyle's health, especially with her singing career in the works. Some feel the pressures of fame may be too stressful for her. A source close to Boyle said, "She was so far out of her comfort zone and she could barely keep it together--that's a fact the whole world is aware of. This has disaster written all over it." The plan is for "American Idol" and "Britain's Got Talent" judge Simon Cowell, to help Boyle find record companies that will promote and sell her albums, particularly in the United States. Despite best intentions in the music industry, sources are still reluctant in thinking the spotlight will be good for Boyle. "She doesn't want to say no to recording," said the source. "But everything else that comes with it? Concerts, television appearances? This is not what's best for her. There has to be a way where she can sing and be financially secure, and not have to sacrifice her well-being." Boyle, who admitted to never have kissed a man in an interview before her performance on "Britain's Got Talent", is from Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland.

Phoenix police arrested a man in Phoenix on Monday on suspicion of raping an unconscious woman live on a popular video hosting Web site.
According to a court document, on Feb. 26, 2009, at about 5 a.m., 20-year-old Jonathan Hock set up the webcam built into his laptop and broadcast live as he sexually assaulted a woman whom he knew for less than a month as she lay in bed unconscious. The victim had reportedly been asleep for up to six hours before the assault occurred.
While being interviewed by Phoenix police, the woman said she became aware of the assault after friends text messaged her about the video. According to a court document, the woman then found pictures on the Web site of Hock lying next to her as she was asleep and naked from the waist down
Phoenix police issued a search warrant for the Web site's content to try to obtain the live video of the assault. In the video, Hock reportedly made comments about him being able to commit the assault without her knowledge while he performed various sexual acts, according to the court document.
After viewing the five minute video, Phoenix police arrested Hock and booked him on charges of sexual assault and surreptitious video taping.
Police say Hock is allegedly very popular on the site for his sexual behavior, and they said information they received through the investigation indicates there may have been similar acts of this type involving this suspect.

ABC broadcasts a special at 9 p.m. Tuesday that forecasts a bleak - make that no - future for civilization by the next century unless we somehow curb population growth, resource depletion and climate change.
In "Earth 2100," ABC says correspondent Bob Woodruff talks with a series of experts to draw up what is admittedly a worst-case scenario, given current trends.
Among those interviewed is John Holdren, science advisor to President Obama. According to ABC, he tells Woodruff: "If we continue on the business as usual trajectory, there will be a tipping point that we cannot avert. We will indeed drive the car over the cliff."
I haven't had the opportunity to screen this special in advance, so have no insights to offer. Watch - or ignore it - at your own risk.

I'm very happy to be an honorary Tiger instead!" (Couric was referring to the school mascot)
In addition to giving something of a shout out to her younger boyfriend Brooks Perlin, Katie Couric also managed to poke fun at Alaska Governor - and former vice presidential candidate - Sarah Palin. "Coming here was a real no brainer! After all, I can see New Jersey from my house!" said Couric to the crowd. Of course, Katie Couric wasn't implying that she looks or acts like a ferocious jungle cat (though she might behind closed doors) when she said that she's been called a cougar lately. She if referring to the term as it is used in the dating world. Datingthoughts.com offer a playful "dating definition" of a cougar: "A woman aged 40 years or older who preys on younger men. During a hunt, she can often be spotted by her leopard print outfit, which makes her feel and look younger."Much to the delight of feminists, "cougars" like Katie Couric are becoming increasingly more popular in modern society. It has always been acceptable for older men to date younger - sometimes much younger - women. For example, 83-year-old Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy magazine, is currently dating 19-year-old twins! But the same thing cannot be said about the opposite arrangement. That is to say, until recently, it has been taboo for a woman to date a much younger man. (Katie Couric is 52 and, as mentioned above, her boyfriend Brooks Perlin is now 35.) But societal views with respect to older woman dating and marrying younger men are shifting. Katie Couric is one of many famous women who are dating or married to much younger men. Others include actress Demi Moore (she is 46 and her husband actor Ashton Kutcher is 31) and actress Cynthia Rhodes (she is 52 and her husband singer Richard Marx is 45).
